Transport - Buses/Trams/Trolleybuses (In no particular order)

West Ham Garage
West Ham Garage - (This site has 'gone down'. Searches have found no replacement. Does anybody know of its whereabouts?) This is a site which aims to tell the story of West Ham Garage. It was once a Tram Depot, then a Trolleybus Depot and finally a London Transport bus garage. the site is still under development so is worth keeping an eye on as it progresses.

David Bradley Online
David Bradley Online - This is a site with pictures and information about the London Trolleybus. It is a fantastic photographic record of the once largest Trolleybus system in the world. It is mainly centered around the Croydon network but there are good pictures of the Fulwell routes and the special runs on the very last day.
David is currently restoring his photographic collection after it has laid, unloved and untouched, in his loft for many years. Good luck with the project David, I discover something new every time I visit. Very well worth a visit. The small picture is from this site.

British Trolleybuses

British Trolleybuses is developing a CD-ROM that includes details of all trolleybuses built for service within the UK between 1909 and 1985. That's 651 records, covering 6,304 trolleybuses. On this site, you can download a copy of the FREE interactive demonstration disk. They are now also planning to host the National Trolleybus Archive, a web based repository of the whereabouts of all surviving British trolleybus artifacts.

LLANDUDNO & COLWYN BAY TRAMWAY SOCIETY
Formed in 1997 , the Llandudno & Colwyn Bay Tramway Society aims not only to promote awareness of the history of seaside tramways and pleasure railways throughout the UK, but also to restore an open top, double deck tram to working condition, as it would have been seen in the first half of the 20th century.
L.O.T.S. The London Omnibus Traction Society is a group for anyone interested in bus in and around the capital. They produce a quarterly magazine, 'London Bus Magazine' and a monthly newsletter ' The London Bus'. In addition there are regular meetings with speakers and subjects related to London Transport and independent operators. The site gives breaking road transport news for London and membership information.
Sandtoft Transport Museum Sandtoft is the home of Britain's largest collection of working trolleybuses. There are details of forthcoming events and photos of some of the vehicles in the museum. I've been to the museum, well actually I belong to the British Trolleybus Society who run it, and it's a very interesting day out.
Busweb Part of the Travelring, BusWeb is the start page on the Internet for European bus and coach companies. Amongst others, BusWeb features an easy to use directory of links to all European coach companies with a website, all bus enthusiasts with a website and hundreds of resources useful to European bus, coach and (group) travel.
The Bus Station Maintained by Steve Annells, this is described as a departure point for Bus-related links all over the world. A very comprehensive list and well worth a visit.
Ian's Bus Stop Ian's Bus Stop, maintained by Ian Smith, has many pages about many classes of London bus. To quote the heading on Ian's Homepage, "The BUS-STOP is an outsider's view of London Transport buses, mainly in the 1930-1980 era.."
For the week beginning 21st December 1998 our own RM 254 was "Bus Of The Week". Thanks Ian.

'Routemaster' has been off line for a while but has returned with a new address. Apologies to those who may have been linking from here and getting nowhere!
This site contains many sub-pages of interest to London Bus enthusiasts, including: 'Hounslow Revisited' (Changes in the bus scene along the High Street); 'Buses of Yesteryear' (The Rally at Staines in August 1997); 'Routemaster Heritage Centre' (The Open Day in July 1997) as well as a PhotoCD picture Archive, Links and 'From Trams to Volvos' (The story of Public Transport between Uxbridge and Shepherds Bush) - well worth a visit.

Transport - Railways (In no particular order)

West Somerset Railway

A very busy and go-ahead railway, operating between Minehead and Bishops Lydeard, in beautiful Somerset. Very well worth a visit. There is also the West Somerset Railway Association. Through the WSRA you can support the running of the railway. I'm sure they'd be glad to hear from you!
South Devon Railway A registered Charity which operates a Standard Gauge Railway between Buckfastleigh and Totnes in South Devon. A wonderful day out on a railway which recreates the atmosphere of a GWR branch line.
Deutsche Bahn AG German National Railways - Very useful for planning continental rail travel. There is a journey planner where you can enter towns of departure and arrival, with preferred times. It will then provide a complete rail itinerary. It extends beyond Germany and will include Eurostar from London if necessary. A couple of nice Screensavers here as well.
